May 24, 2009  Today’s review is of the Casio Edifice EQW-M1000DB-1ACR, introduced at Basel 2009. It’s a multifunction analog quartz watch with an unusual dial. Keep reading for the rest of the review and pictures. In my opinion, this watch represents Casio’s competition to the Oceanus models.

I recently bought a Casio Edifice EQW-M1100 which I am quite impressed with. I am not sure the chronograph bit is very useful but I do like the look.
My other 'noteables' are a Cyma miltary which my Grannie bought me for passing the 11+ (and has lume that sends radiation sensors crazy!) and an Omega Tank.
I may be wrong but there is little mention of the Edifice range on this forum.
Is there a reason?
G shocks seeem acceptable.

Iam sure the Edifice is a good watch, the only problem i have with them is some of the faces look very 'busy'
As long as you like it thats all that matters.

I must becoming confused on Edifice.
I also have a EQW-500E. Similar sort of catchy name to the EQW-M1100DB.
Presume Edifice to Casio is like Lexus to Toyota and Infiniti to Honda?
They can't get there model names right either.
Still, I am on a bit of an Edifice thing!

I've got the EQW-500DBE after seeing it in a Mercedes magazine a couple of years ago. It's a nice watch for the money but I find it a real pain in the as trying to set it for daylight savings. To be fair I haven't worn it for 6 months so I may give it an outing later in the week.

I suspect your problem is that you haven't told it which radio signal to set itself from. This is the first (and last) thing you need to do with the waveceptor series. After that it sets itself to the radio time signal every night so its always accurate. No need to mess about with daylight saving. The instructions will tell you how. Its a bit fiddly but not as hard as people say.
You can check if its working or not by pressing the bottom right button when the digital time display is showing the day and time. It will say GET and then cycle through the date and time of the last time signal received. Normaly at 0100 - 0200 the previous morning.
Really like mine and knowing its always accurate is nice.
Sorry - just looked at your model and seen it different to my one - the same principle probably still applies

I have a couple of Edifice's and Waveceptors - love them for the convenience alone!

It does update itself every night but you have to set the daylight savings manually from what I remember. I'll have a look tonight though, thanks!

My waveceptor amended itself when the clocks went back the other night?

I think the Edifice range is really good.
I must admit I was biased by the Red Bull sponsorship (I am going to Abu Dhabi F1 next week, so a bit Red Bull fan type)
The time accuracy cannot be questioned.
Nearly great 3D look and no see through back,

i have had a eqw-m1000 which was the predecessor to your m1100, and love it to bits.. never had a negative comment about it from anyone, even watch lovers...infact i brought one on advice from guys that buy omega's, oris limited editions and breitling..
the 3-d chronograph edifice's are akin to the nissan gtr... probably the most technologically advanced watches in the world, yours has 6 motors in it i think...
like you, not sure why it plays second fiddle to the g shock range, but makes it more exclusive for guys like us heh..and more millionaires wear a casio than any other brand.. enjoy..
the functions are awesome, esp the world time zone thingy, i'm about the buy the m1100c..it's so cheap, why not..
and just been to just about every watch shop in vegas with a watch lover and found very little i liked the look of more... what i did like was megabucks.. the rose gold rolex daytona cosmograph and the blancpain super trofeo LE with cloth strap..

you need to set your home city, then all auto-updates to dst/date occur automatically, including the atomic clock synch..
when you go overseas, you must change your home city and not use the world time facility to continue with local updates..

Has a birthday treat I requested a Edifice watch which was located at Skywaches Singapore, it was only ordered last Thursday 5th March 2015 and it arrived this morning the Monday 9th morning at 9.15am. I'm very pleased with the design and the quality of the watch plus the great service.
